Quidditch Club Guide - Roisin Blackwood - 08-30-2026 Hogwarts Quidditch Club Guide
General Information The Quidditch Club is an IC club at Hogwarts, open to students of all years, run by Professor Roisin Blackwood. All students who sign up will be randomized into one of two teams with NPCs interspersed to fill in the gaps. There will be two matches this term; you only need to fully complete one of them to pass, though partial credit and Practice Threads can help you reach your total either way. See below for more details on passing. Whether you've been flying since before you could walk or you're stepping onto a broom for the first time, there's a role for you: chasing, beating, keeping, or seeking.
How Do I Pass? You will need 20 points to pass Quidditch Club each term. Games [10 points each] Two games will be played, each running five rounds, updated every other day. To fully complete a game and earn the full 10 points, you must post in at least 3 of the 5 rounds, with each of those 3 posts meeting the 16-sentence bonus threshold. Please be sure to read the matches guide to learn how the games will be played. Partial credit: If you don't fully complete a game, you may still receive partial credit for that game based on your participation, up to a maximum of 9 points. Partial credit does not count as "completing" a game.
You only need to fully complete one of the two games to pass the term; partial credit alone, even at the 9-point cap, doesn't satisfy this requirement. Once you've fully completed one game, the other is yours to use more loosely if you'd like. Practice Threads [5 points each] Complete up to two Practice Threads with Professor Blackwood or another player (NPCs don't count) to make up points toward your 20, whether you missed a game entirely or only earned partial credit. Must be completed by November 19 to count toward your grade. When Are the Games? Below is the schedule for the two games. The updates on the OOC dates will be in the evenings, CST. Match One will take place Saturday, 27 October. You can expect this thread to begin on Tuesday, 15 September. The thread will be open until September 25, when it will lock. Match Two will take place Saturday, 15 March. You can expect this thread to begin on Tuesday, 27 October. The thread will be open until November 5, when it will lock. |
