Professor Julia Laurence

My philosophy when it comes to the education of the wizarding youth has always been that of transparency. It is my wholehearted belief that every witch and wizard has the full capability within themselves to master those subjects that light a fire under them.

I don’t believe in restriction of knowledge; however, I do believe in the responsible handling of it. It is important that as each student comes into their own and builds on their magical foundations, they are not only given the tools to pursue their passions but also the guidance to wield their knowledge with discernment and care. Power, after all, is never inherently dark or light. It is the intent behind the wand that matters.

This will be my third term at Hogwarts after a brief hiatus prior to the ousting of the previous Headmaster. I attended the University of Edinburgh where I majored in History of Magic, and held curator positions within The Vatican, The Louvre and most recently, The British Museum.

My door is very rarely closed, and I encourage you, if you have questions or want additional help with any of your subjects, that you feel free to stop by the library to chat. Don't mind the little blonde girl with gloves. My daughter Kathryn loves to make friends.
