Hospital Wing Information

The Infirmary is where the students, faculty, and staff go for medical care while school is in session. Greenhouse #4 supplies all plant ingredients, while the Paddock supplies ingredients from magical creatures.

Students have the freedom to unofficially help out in the Wing, however there is no real recognition for their work. Head Healer Blustwick, a larger grandmotherly type, has dedicated ten years of service to the Hogwarts castle, and while a bit grumpy, she is overall a good resource for students to learn from.

Waiting Area

Situated at the entrance of the Hospital, this is a calm and welcoming space for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Seating: A plush sofa and several armchairs provide comfortable seating.
  • Atmosphere: The area is brightened by enchanted, floating lumos orbs. It is filled with various potted plants, including magical species that emit a soothing, light scent to help calm nervous visitors.

Patient Ward

This is the central space of the Hospital Wing, designed to be open, airy, and filled with natural light from large windows. The floor is polished stone, easy to clean.
  • Capacity: 10 beds in total, divided into two rows of 5 beds on either side of the open space. Each bed has a privacy curtain that can be drawn with a magical charm.
  • At one end of the room there is a magical storage cabinet. This holds general medical supplies that are used regularly. When empty, the cabinet magically restocks from the storage room off the greenhouse. Regular organization and cleaning is required.

Hospital Wing Greenhouse

This large greenhouse is dedicated to cultivating and harvesting the magical plants used in the Wing's remedies and potions.
  • Features: The air is humid and smells of rich soil and exotic flowers. Rows of planter beds contain a wide variety of plants, from common herbs like Mint and Ginger to more specialized plants like Fluxweed and Horehound. The greenhouse is charmed to provide the perfect conditions for each plant.

Supplies Storage Room

A large, practical room for storing all extra medical supplies, located off the Greenhouse.
  • Contents: Stacks of clean bandages, enchanted splints, and other standard medical tools. Shelves are organized with categories for easy access, such as "Skeletal Restoratives," “Anti-Bleeding,” "Salve Jars," and "Bed Linens.” If kept in order, the supplies will magically restock the Patient Ward cabinet.
  • At one end of the storage room, there is a large magical Dumbwaiter that lowers to ground level, where the castle greenhouse can send up plants in a quick and effective manner.

Apothecary

This room is the heart of the Wing's medicinal operations. It is a dedicated space for mixing and preparing potions and remedies.
  • Features: The room is lined with shelves of jars and bottles containing various magical ingredients. It features several large workbenches with cauldrons of various sizes and enchanted scales for precise measurements.
  • Locked cabinets are used to store the more dangerous potions and ingredients.

Student Worker Lounge and Locker Room

This area is a dedicated space for student workers to decompress and prepare for their duties.
  • Lounge: A quiet and clean room featuring a small table with chairs and two comfortable sofas. It's an ideal spot for a break between shifts or to study in peace.
  • Locker Room: Connected to the lounge, this is a private space where workers can safely store their belongings and change into their wing uniforms. It contains lockers for bags and hooks to hang their robes.

Head Healer's Office

Located off the main infirmary area, this is a private space for the Head Healer to manage administrative tasks, consult with staff, and meet with patients.
  • Layout: Includes a large desk, comfortable chairs for consultations, and shelves filled with reference books on magical medicine. A separate door connects directly to the infirmary for quick access.

Head Healer's Personal Quarters
