Early Evening
Mateo’s flat, Whitechapel
Early Evening
Mateo’s flat, Whitechapel
Alice had been in the kitchen since four.
That was, if she were honest, probably too long for what she’d produced, but cooking was significantly more complicated than she had anticipated. She had a recipe, and she followed it. Mostly.
The result sitting on the stove smelt… acceptable. She thought.
Mateo’s flat contained exactly two of everything, which was practical and also made her feel slightly melancholy. She set the two plates down on the table, and then proceeded to set out the silverware that was not, in fact, made of silver. She wasn’t sure what metal they were made of, but they did the job.
Alice smiled to herself and glanced at the clock. He should be home soon.
